Keeping your EPoS equipment clean

Curve

Keeping EPoS equipment clean is at the forefront of retailers minds. With multiple people touching screens and payments devices the risk of spreading coronavirus is high.

But, keeping expensive technical and electrical equipment clean needs to be done in the right way so as not to damage your vital kit.

We want to offer advice about keeping your EPoS equipment clean and germ free without it getting damaged.

Here are our do’s and don’t’s for keeping your EPoS equipment clean:

Touchscreens and monitors:

  • DO NOT use bleach or spray liquid cleaner directly onto your screens
  • DO use antibacterial wipes, screen cleaner or ammonia-free glass cleaner
  • If you don’t have wipes, put your safe cleaning product onto a soft, non abrasive cloth and gently wipe it over the screen
  • Repeat this cleaning process for every new user of the screen
  • For daily deep cleaning, turning your screen or monitor off will allow you to see where it has been touched. Finger prints will be visible and you’ll know when it’s clean
  • DO NOT reuse wipes! Use them once and bin them

Payment devices and handheld equipment:

  • DO NOT use bleach or spray liquid cleaner directly onto any handheld or payment devices
  • DO use antibacterial wipes to clean the device after each use
  • DO NOT reuse wipes, use them once and bin them

If you are ever unsure about how to properly sanitise any of the EPoS equipment please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us. Any of our team will be more than happy to help you.

Our advice is inline with the current recommendations from the World Health Organisation, as well as Oxhoo, one of our main EPoS screen providers.
