On 19th June, Wyevale Garden Centres announced the sale of eight of their garden centres to our client British Garden Centres (BGC).

BGC have acquired the eight garden centres to build on their existing garden centre family. They will run these new sites under main BGC brand:

  • Albrighton
  • Birchencliffe
  • Bressingham
  • Gardenlands
  • Hemel Hempstead
  • Louth
  • Tarporley
  • Wolseley Bridge

This is great news for us at Fidelity Systems, as suppliers of BGC’s EPOS systems across their full retail and café operations.

This year we have already upgraded sixteen BGC sites to replace main till and restaurant till units with new terminals featuring touchscreens, rear (customer facing) advertising screens and Bluetooth scanners.

This acquisition takes BGC up to 24 garden centres owned across the UK. This up from 16 as of February 2018, as they continue to add to their British Garden Centres family. reported that Anthony Jones, Chief Operating Officer at Wyvale Garden Centre, said about the sale: “The sale of a further eight centres takes the total number sold to 101 since the sale process began. I’m delighted that these eight centres will remain as garden centres and would like to thank all colleagues for their commitment and contribution and wish them all well for the future.”

Charles Stubbs, MD of British Garden Centres said to “We are proud to announce the purchase of these additional centres into our rapidly expanding British Garden Centres family. Phillippa, Robert and I and all the British Garden Centres teams are looking forward to supporting the new centres in the set up for the Autumn/Winter trading period. We would like to express our thanks to all involved in this complex purchase process.”
