Fidelity provides a comprehensive retail and hospitality solution for Student Unions.

The University of Leeds was founded in 1904, but its origins go back to the nineteenth century. Now, it is a truly multi‐cultural and international institution with students and staff from over 100 countries studying and working campus. To service the needs of its diverse 32,000 student members, Leeds University Union has created a truly cosmopolitan campus "student village" which is home to several retail and food outlets along with hospitality venues to cater for all aspects of student life. 

Fidelity started working with LLU's student village in 2007 when they had a disastrous experience using a third party's web based EPoS system. Fidelity was contacted and working with the existing hardware, replaced all EPOS and back office software.

Following the success of this solution, in 2011 Leeds University Union asked Fidelity to upgrade their existing EPoS hardware. This combined with the villages expanding requirements, resulted in Fidelity supplying a total of 54 EPoS terminals to LUU for use across the village's retail and hospitality outlets. Dependent upon the outlet's needs, two different touch screen EPoS terminals have been installed. For example in the "Essentials" convenience store, blade terminals are used as their ability to work with additional peripherals provides the functionality required in retail environments. 

Hospitality venues were supplied alternative terminals to deliver high speed, responsive transactions and efficient customer service. Where relevant to complement the touch screens, Orbital Scanners and Receipt Printers have also been installed along with Chip and Pin modules for credit/debit card payments. 

Further aspects of the solution have been tailored for the individual outlets needs for example, in the "Old Bar" which serves food & drink, customer service has been improved by linking the Gpos to a kitchen printer which speeds order preparation and a pager system which informs customers when their food is ready for collection. Several mobile terminals have also been configured for use when required at large events in the "Refectory" or when the weather permits the "Terrace's" outdoor bar to be open. 

These units are taken out of storage and simply plugged into the network to provide additional points of sales which synchronise automatically with the back office software. Whilst upgrading their Epos hardware LUU took the opportunity to upgrade their back office software to the latest version which enabled the efficient management of over 20,000 retail and hospitality products to be consolidated in the one back office software solution. 

Fidelity's solution is a truly multi market system, perfectly at home in the most demanding of retail environments and the busiest of hospitality venues hence, why it is used by LUU along with 60 plus other University and College establishments
