Getting college EPoS right is paramount to help improve student experience and college profitability.

The background

Goodenough College, is in the heart of London. It provides residential accommodation for 700 postgraduates from the UK and all over the world.

In the 2016 National Student Housing Survey, the College retained the prestigious International Accommodation Quality Mark for the fourth year running. It was also awarded Best Specialist Accommodation for the second year in a row.

The problem

We were approached by Goodenough College, to design and supply a completely new and fully integrated cashless EPoS solution. They wanted to efficiently streamline all their POS and cashless functions.

We were the natural fit because we could provide exactly what they needed with a single system.

The solution

Using our vast experience gained in over one hundred similar installations in the higher education sector. We recommended our GPoS touch screen software for all their catering outlets. These would be running 15” PC based touch screen till terminals.

For the back office control and management, for the real time sales reporting, pricing and stock. We recommended our comprehensive Fidelity back office suite.

For the cashless element we knew our integration with the Debitrak cashless system would be ideal. Users are able to top up their personal wallet or check their balances and transactions all online. Plus, the catering and finance teams can get detailed automated web reports for sales and turnover.

Room keycards

With on site accommodation for 700 students and a retail and hospitality cashless system in place, it made sense to combine everything. This led to all the rooms being added to the card system. Not only can you buy products with your student card, this is also how you access your room.

Any lost or stolen cards can immediately be disabled and funds transferred to a new card. All managed by the back office software.

Installation

We are experts in what we do and can offer a very speedy installation that causes minimum disruption to your business. This was displayed here with the whole installation at Goodenough College taking just three days. We were even able to cause limited disruption for the existing residents when upgrading to their new room key cards.

The Total Control Premier (TCP) suite is reliable and feature rich, with excellent reporting and a good till UI.  It is straightforward to push out updates to the tills and update menus, and generate all our Financial and Management Reports.”
